Timothy Baxter(1935–2021)

Timothy Baxter was Professor of Composition at the Royal Academy of Music in London from 1965-1990 and was Fellow of The Royal Academy of Music (FRAM). In addition, he was an international examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music from 1966-2005.
From 1990-2021, he lived in Denmark being married to the Danish Birthe Baxter and was a member of The Danish Composer's Union and was a member of KomVest (a Danish association of modern composers) from 2009-2021. He was furthermore the chairman of KomVest for a number of years.
Timothy Baxter started as a composer at 15 with a small choir piece, which is still in use. He has written a number of different pieces such as for piano, organ, various chamber music pieces, orchestral music, including a piece for young musicians with viola solo and pieces for choir and educational pieces, songs, church music and a piece for the theatre.
Three cds with his music have been published:
-> Volume 1 in 2015 with Oboe Triptych and Oboe in the Shade, both for oboe and piano, two songs for soprano and piano Sweet Day and Vuggevise (Lullaby), Little Suite for Flute and Guitar and the piano pieces The Nativity, Alla Cubana and Six Bagatelles for Two Pianos.
-> Volume 2 in 2019 The Birth of Jesus - a Christmas Musical, which was originally published on LP in 1978.
-> In 2020 a cd was published with Cantata Respice in me (with soprano, organ and strings) String Quartet, Triptych for clarinet and piano, Trio-Fantasie for piano trio and Etudes for piano.
In 2020 Linn Elvkull, viola, published 5 pieces on Soundcloud by Timothy Baxter: In the Shade, Valse Solitaire, Idyll, Alla Greco and Early Bird.
