2 Scottish Dances in 3, for Viola and Piano

I began these pieces by imagining how a traditional Scottish strathspey or reel would sound in triple metre. (They normally have four beats in the bar.) The resulting work blends traditional folk styles with more classical development techniques and tonal structures. Kenneth Gaw
